Ready to help set the record straight on social media and share informative information with your patients and community about COVID-19?
In this mini-training, we are going to teach you how to use IGTV to share educational content with your followers. IGTV allows you to share videos from 1-10 minutes in length, then market those videos to your Instagram followers and potential followers through your feed, your stories and IGTV hashtags.
Good News:: It is very easy to create and upload an IGTV video!
In this mini-training we will cover:
1. What you should say: How to structure the content of your video.
2. How to record: Record your video and prepare it for Instagram.
3. How to upload: Video walk-through of uploading a video to IGTV.
4. How to market: Maximize your IGTV video views.
Although we encourage you to be personable and use humor on Instagram, we don't think you should include a lot of "fluff" in your IGTV videos. Follow this content formula structure:
A. Hook: A compelling why the topic of this video should interest your followers.
B. Why they should watch: Tell them what they will know at the end of this video.
C. Educational content: Teach them something valuable and relevant.
D. Impact: How the information could change viewers' lives.
E. Call to action: What should the viewer do with this information now?
There are many ways to record videos for IGTV, but we promised you we'd bring you the easiest option!
Both light and sound are typically much better outdoors than indoors. With this in mind, here's the equipment we recommend:
Smart phone: This is the only piece of equipment you actually need to record videos for IGTV. If you can find a ledge to prop your phone, fantastic! Otherwise use a tripod.
Tripod: If you do want to use a tripod, we believe a ring light tripod is an excellent investment. You can use it with the light indoors or outdoor as needed, or you can use the tripod alone without the light. The difference in the quality of your videos will surprise you!
Ring Light Tripod1. Turn your written video script into an outline.
2. Put each bullet of your outline on an index card (7 cards max).
3. Rehearse before you turn on the camera.
4. Prepare to record in an outdoor setting with a nice backdrop. The ideal location for sound and light is outdoors during the day in indirect sunlight.
5. Position your phone in the tripod with the selfie camera facing you.
6. Record your educational content as many times as needed until you're happy.
7. Take several still photos of yourself until you get one you like. We suggest putting your camera on a 3-second delay, so that you can put your hands down and position yourself.
8. Add subtitles to your video in order to maximize the number of views your video gets. Instagram reports over 50% of its users view videos with the "sound off!" We suggest using the free APP "Otter Voice Meeting Notes" to transcribe and subtitle your video, then SAVE the new video to your camera role on your phone.
