How To Connect with New Patients on LinkedIn

We have developed a simple, 3-step strategy for connecting with a large and very targeted group of people, and ultimately increasing your patient base. And we’re sharing it with you!

Our doctors tell us that social media is like a monkey on their back. They’re overwhelmed by it because there’s just too much information to sift through. But they know that’s where their patients are, they know if they want to grow their practice social media is the place to do it, and they know social media is here to stay. And that includes LinkedIn.

We say, it is here to stay — but namaste! We’ve got your back!

LinkedIn is a great place with highly educated professionals across countless industries who want and need a doctor in your specialty who they can trust. They want to connect with you! But, like with any relationship, you can’t just connect and then walk away. Remember, we’re humans — we're social! We can’t to connect beyond just ‘hello.’ They also want to hear what you have to say.

Therefore we believe that connecting on LinkedIn is actually a three-step process: First make a connection, then engage, then convert.

The first step is easy. Select the audiences you want, one at a time, and invite them connect with you. 

Even after they’ve accepted your invitation, you’re not really connected until you establish a rapport with your new contact. Here at Meredith & Boo we talk a lot about how engagement is what turns your followers to patients. Spend time letting them get to know you. One of the biggest complaints we hear from our doctors about social media is that there is so much bad information out there. This is actually a good thing and can work in your favor! Social media platforms like LinkedIn give you the opportunity to set the record straight, by publishing accurate, correct information. This gives you credibility (or ‘clout’ as we call it).

Once you have earned their trust, then you can convert them by inviting them to become your patient.
